A Bunk Bed For Your Child’s Room
One of the best choices for your child’s bedroom is a bunk bed. Not only will your children love their new bunk bed, but it is an ideal way to provide more sleeping space for siblings or for when your child has an overnight guest.
Using a bunk bed in a child’s room has been around for many years and for very good reason. There are usually only so many bedrooms in a home and when you have more children than rooms, doubling up is going to have to occur. Children have been sharing rooms with their siblings for as long as there have been families living in homes. The invention of the bunk bed allowed children to have their very own bed and still leave enough space in the room to move around.
Today’s bunk bed is even more creative than the original models that you might remember from your youth. Today, you can choose a loft bed, traditional two twin bed bunk bed or a bunk bed that has one twin and one full size bed. There are many variations on the bunk bed today which allows you to choose the model that works best for your family.
Even if you have one child in a room, the bunk bed will allow your child to have a friend over for a sleepover and have plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. The loft bed is a fabulous way to save space in a room and it can also provide extra sleeping space when there is an overnight guest.
When you are choosing a bunk bed for your child’s room, make sure that you select one that is solidly built and that follows safety requirements for this type of furnishing. Look for loose hardware so that you don’t risk your child falling from the upper bunk. The ladder that is used on the bunk bed should be able to withstand your child climbing up and down into their bed for a long period of time without wearing or a loosening of the bolts.
Keep an eye on the construction of your bunk bed. With children, it is likely that there may be some rough treatment of the bed. Just keep an eye out for loose hardware and any loosening of the bunk bed itself. If you notice any sway in the bed it is a good sign that some of the bolts might need to be tightened.
