Skin Cream Ingredients Can Do More Harm Than Good!

Having dry skin is the bain of women everywhere. Especially if, for whatever reason, you have to spend a lot of time outdoors exposed to the sun. Just the hassle of needing extra skin care to fight the condition is a constant pain. The skin cream that you choose for your daily anti-aging skin care routine is the most important part of that routine.

When you are shopping for skin care products, always remember the law of cravat emptor (buyer beware!). The ingredients of any skin cream will determine it’s quality. Some products, even the high-priced brand name products, contain things that are actually bad for dry skin.

Any product that lists alcohol of any kind in their ingredients must be avoided. Alcohol will make your dry skin even worse by stripping what little moisture it contains.

Never purchase a skin care cream because it “smells good”. Useless filler ingredients, like “a nice smell”, will do nothing for your dry skin.

Some low quality skin creams will include derivatives of natural products. Dioxane, an artificial derivative of coconut cream, is a good example. Long term use of creams containing dioxane has been linked to many different skin problems in some women.

Essence is another bad term when it’s found on a skin care product label. Containing the essence of a natural substance assures you that it’s man-made, and not actually natural. “Extracts”, on the other hand, are made from the real thing, so, use products with extracts instead.
